  8. Judy Holliday, Betty Comden and Adolph Green and the showcasing
  9. of such jazz instrumentalists as John Coltrane and Sonny
  10. Rollins. A father figure to fledgling stage talent, he helped
  11. launch the careers of Barbra Streisand, Pearl Bailey and Woody
  12. Allen.
